New & Improved :: Smoke Alarm Saturday :: Oct. 28

smoke alarm saturday longview fire departmentThe time change, twice a year in the fall and spring, is the perfect time to remind yourself to change the batteries in the smoke detectors around your house.  This year, “Fall Back” is Sunday, November 5.  And, October is also Fire Prevention Month.  We are doing something different or New & Improved this year on Smoke Alarm Saturday, 1 week before the time changes on Saturday, October 28 in conjunction with Louis Morgan Drugs, Hardin’s Hardware, and Bailey’s Hardware in Gladewater.

On Saturday, October 28, Hometown Hardware and Gifts, Hardin’s Hardware in Longview and Bailey’s Hardware in Gladewater are joining forces and giving the Longview Fire Department smoke detectors and 9V batteries to give away to those in need! We all know that smoke detectors save lives and replacing the batteries in existing detectors is key.  This is our gift to the community.

Also, on this day, don’t forget to stop into Hometown Hardware and Gifts for your FREE 9V batteries AND we will have FREE smoke detectors to the 1st 100 customers. After that, they will be 1/2 price!!

Louis Morgan Drugs will host a KYKX Radio live remote from their parking lot. They will take monetary donations all day for bullet proof vests for our first responders. Yes, believe it or not, they need them! Hometown Hardware and Gifts, Hardin’s Hardware in Longview and Bailey’s Hardware in Gladewater will also take donations all day. Let’s all help protect those trying to save lives.
